LA Times releases pictures of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

Immediately after the shooting, the fate of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords seemed impossibly bleak.

And now,

What a miracle.  A long road ahead for Ms. Giffords, I'm sure. May God continue to fill her and her family with the energy and perseverance to meet the challenges set before her as she continues her recovery.

That she's alive at all is amazing. That she's able to make eye contact, smile, and communicate responsively is nothing short of miraculous.
