I've been away and this despite things happening on the national scene that might normally have garnered some serious attention from yours truly on these pages.
I find it interesting, certainly poetic, that while the SCOTUS was announcing its decision making a mockery of marriage on Friday morning, I was privileged to be basking in the beauty and richness of witnessing the night before that which God had established and ordained as the "truth that is evident to right reason and recognized as such by all the major cultures of the world"... the union of one man (my son) and one woman (his beautiful bride) as husband and wife.
Yes, I've been completely and happily focused for nearly a week on preparing for, participating in and celebrating the highly anticipated wedding of my youngest to the love of his life and what a week it's been. From rehearsals and a follow on dinner to the wedding and then on to the celebration of their union a couple of days later, it's been a whirlwind of activity that has left me physically tired, emotionally wrought and yet extremely, most extremely, happy and blessed.
They both have given me permission to publish their edited version of the ceremony, one that incredibly seems to engage my lacrimal apparatus every time I watch it.

Richard and Brittany, may your love be a forever love, united to the great and good God who has brought you both together.
You both have brought Linda and I great, great joy.
