“…as mere religious gobbledygook…”

Even I don’t see it as that, Rick. Even I can easily looking past the couple of times the good Father references Jesus, because everything he says is excellent advice. Especially - “What makes us happy is always right in front of us”. I would add “If only we let it”.

Conversely, many of us seem to go looking for that which makes us unhappy. I was thinking about this the other day while driving. As I’m in the right lane doing the speed limit, I see most of the other drivers speeding along in the left lane, tailgating each other, sometimes weaving in and out of lanes, desperately trying to just get ahead of the guy in front of them. Always rushing and braking, and swerving and just plain making themselves miserable. And for what? To get there two minutes faster?

Slow down, happiness is right in front of you…in the right lane….two minutes latter.

"Slow down, happiness is right in front of you..."

It's a decent summation of the good padre's piece...

Thanks tim, as always, for your words and your loyalty to the blog.
