I'm sure the calls for civil discourse will follow soon enough:
Warming up the crowd before President Obama’s speech in Detroit this afternoon, Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. had some choice words for the Tea Party.
Hoffa warned the largely union crowd that there was a “war on workers” and urged organized labor to take to the ballot box to fight lawmakers that oppose the president’s agenda.
“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Hoffa told thousands of workers gathered for the annual Labor Day rally.
“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march… Everybody here’s got a vote…Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he concluded.
Obama followed the union thug on stage and used his own inflaming rhetoric though not quite as heated as Hoffa's:
Teasing next Thursday’s much embattled jobs speech, he called on the GOP to put the struggling country ahead of their party, and urged Congress to move quickly in creating new jobs:
“The time for Washington games is over. The time for action is now. No more manufactured crises. No more games. Now is not the time for the people you sent to Washington to worry about their jobs; now is the time for them to worry about your jobs.”
“Prove you’ll fight just as hard for tax cuts for middle-class families as you do for oil companies and the most affluent Americans,” he demanded, addressing the GOP’s claim that they are a “party of tax cuts”: “Show us what you got.”
Obama’s tone was stern, and unlike Hoffa’s inciting opening remarks, his rhetoric proposed challenge rather then war. “We’re going to see if we’ve got some straight shooters in Congress. We’re going to see if Congressional Republicans will put country before party,” he said.
This from a guy whose speech was clearly aimed not at America on this national holiday but at his base.
Chutzpah.
You have to be a blooming idiot not to see through this kind of partisan garbage. But it didn't stop there.
The Vice President was as strident in Cincinnati:
Vice President Biden told the crowd “this is a different kind of fight. This is a fight forthe heart and soul of the labor movement. This is a fight for the existence of organized labor. You are the only ones who can stop the barbarians at the gate! That’s why they want you so bad.”
Seems to be a meme. They're encouraging thuggery in the coming year.
It could get very ugly in America.

I love the democrats newly found catch phrase.
"putting party before country?"
Do they seriously believe that anyone short of a moron doesn't realize that they have done just that for year and now they are trying to saddle that mule for the opposition?
Laughable.
As for Hoffa Jr.? He sounds like he is in line to follow in his fathers footsteps.

I work in a grocery store (a non-union one, thankyouverymuch). By any standard I am a walking stereotype of the middle class tax paying American worker. These union shills do not speak for me, nor any of my colleagues.
They want a war? I'm not siding with those sorry ass union thugs. Organized labor IS "the barbarians at the gate."
These people are as ignorant as they are aggressive. Biden makes the ideal spokesman for them too.

Some manufacturing is moving out of Mexico because the workers are making a whopping .75cents an hour. Moving to China where the can get slaves for pennies. Wake up America, Support The Unions, and take those Sons of Bitches out Richie

Hoffa is a wannabe who like his father is corrupt. Unions are not what they should be they are making this country worse. Look who they are in bed with.

"Take me out," Jimmy? You don't take me out -- I take you out! You don't know the meaning of the phrase, "son of a bitch." You sit around in thousand-dollar suits, fat, dumb and happy eating steak every night while you fleece the real workers of America. You've never worked a day in your life.

I hope Jimmy Jr. finds the same chainsaw that dismembered his old man.
