Albert,
You've shown for some time now here that you don't get it... the first step is admitting it...
Now take more steps but take them slow...
Awakening from a stupor can be traumatic...

i'm guessing the donkey represents the republican party. but i don't get the quote or the bomber reference. Excuse me for not knowing much about foreign politics....and my frustration at not getting rational answers from anyone on this site continues....

By refusing to back down on health care reform and in a sense continuously glorify himself, Obama is blowing up his own party. Democrats themselves are worried that forcing this healthcare bill is destructive to the party.
Hence, Obama is dressed like a donkey wearing a suicide bomb. Political suicide. And historical suicide as he goes down in US history as the worst President ever by refusing to swallow his pride and back down or modify this issue.
I suppose there is a case to be made that the donkey is actually the party and not Obama himself...they don't seem to be very quick to rein him in.

Nicely done Leslie... I was perhaps a bit... blunt...
Let's also keep in mind that as is the case with most suicide bombs, others are impacted... usually fatally, certainly negatively...
Government run healthcare is a most certain risk to all of us... if passed, not only will Obama and the Democrats be held to account, we will all suffer...
There ye go Al... a lesson of sorts... though I suspect you're not exactly ready to nod your head in acquiescence...

thank you Leslie, that was very informative and to the point. Thank you for giving a straightforward answer

and now i get it, it's rather humourous

You are right, Albert, it is humourous. The truth is often funnier than fiction.

I generally find humour in both sides making fun of each others blunders

i don't have any clue as to the details of this bill being pushed. All i know is i've had government run health care my whole life and never had a problem with it personally. I know of people who have had to wait a month or 3 for a non emergency surgery or denied free coverage for an elective one, but personally I have never seen or heard of anyone complaining about waiting lists to see a family doctor or such.
What i want to know is; if fixing the alleged problem is as simple as legislating that insurance companies can't deny basic coverage to anyone regardless of conditions, age, or any other factor, why isn't this massive bill as simple as making that happen?

What part of Canada is that?
Where I am it is a month or 3 to see the GP.
There aren't enough GPs to go around so most aren't taking new patients. Nonelective surgery is 6 months to a year if you're lucky.
Thankfully Obama care has already made the system enough like Canada that Canadian docs are starting to trickle home.
The problem isn't as simple as you say which is why the solution isn't simple. Pro socialized healthcare legislators aren't interested in public health, they are interested in more government power. Makes things tricky.
