My husband spent 6 days in the hospital over this past New Year's due to pneumonia and was put on two different IV antibiotics (lastly, the "big gun" vancomycin, the only thing that will kill MRSA, even though they said he didn't have MRSA, just a "very, very dense pneumonia in his right lower lung"). He doesn't remember much of the first 2-3 days (nor the week or so before being admitted), but what he does remember resonated soundly with him as I read it to him just now. We belly-laughed through the entire "manifesto." Thankfully, hubby is fully recovered despite the fact that he was much closer to the point of no return than either of us realized. We would love to know if Chris did, indeed, recover without needing surgery. :)

Good to know that you are on the mend.
