I have been to Israel many times with different groups. My experiences in Bethlehem with groups was similar to his description but not for the reason he supposes. I am not fond of being hustled by pushing men trying to shame me into buying from them. I am sympathetic to people's desire to support their families in difficult situations but the very atmosphere created makes you want to jump back on the bus and leave. Thanks for your comments.

Seems fairly simple to me. All he needs to do is pack a bag and head out into the wilderness all by himself.

You never know. He could establish the first fort in the area and ultimately live out his Palestinian version of Dances With Wolves.

It could happen.

A couple things:

1. He said, "let me be brutally honest". That made me smile.

2. Basically what he's saying is that everyone who thinks Israel is justified in putting up a wall or whatever is a racist because when you walk along Palestinian streets the falafels taste good and everyone is nice. YET it is not uncommon for people who think like this to portray the ugly American as someone who eats and live happily as though nothing is going on even though their foreign policy supports torture and killing. Bono sings against such a deplorable lack of global awareness.

SO, I'm wondering how these pleasant oblivious Palestinians answered Mike when he asked them why they didn't protest against their countries foreign policy when it comes to bombs falling on Sderot, as one example.

Perhaps his mouth was too full to ask. Pity.

Leslie,

My post was just made worthy by your comments... you've nailed things and good...

Thank ya ma'am... your 'voice' is missed around these parts...

Mike considers himself a thinking person... and in large part I'd agree though I question the thinking...

Hmmmmmm...

Think it was someone else who inspired this, but it might as well have been him.

Thing I Know #330. A man who doesn’t know the difference between a fact and an opinion, is not to be trusted in delivering either one of those.

Point being, poor Mike's IQ really doesn't have anything to do with anything. Forming a thought in your head is an act of finesse, just as much as of horsepower.
