From a Church Bulletin: “Women’s Group Rummage Sale: The ladies have cast off clothing of all kinds. They may be seen in the church basement this Friday.”It is written that when human beings were young, we were naked and not ashamed. Shame is the result of the knowledge of Good and Evil. The human body is a beautiful thing. Yet often when we appreciate that naked beauty we find something else lurking in our hearts. We sense a desire to use that body for our own purposes. The name of that desire is Lust. We know it is evil. We know it is in our hearts. So, we are ashamed, or should be.
Our present accommodation to this particular knowledge of Good and Evil and the shame it creates, is to wear clothes. The clothes of other people help protect us from the Evil in ourselves. Our clothes protect us from the evil thoughts of others.
Some people, perhaps attempting a return to innocence, have decided to cast off their clothes in public. These nudists are misguided. The goal of innocence is a good one, but to do the right thing at the wrong time… is a bad thing. We cannot return to Eden. We must go forward through this world into the Kingdom of God. For now, in this worldly mix of Good and Evil, we wear clothes.
Other people, in a similarly misguided attempt at innocence, have decided that violence will have no place in their lives. We should admire these pacifists for their commitment to the Will of God as they see it. They would rather lay down their lives than take the life of another. Some are willing even to lay down the lives of ones they love. I heard of a man who told his wife and family, “If a madman came into our house to kill you, I would not kill him to prevent it. You are prepared for heaven. He is not. I would not send him to hell in order to prevent your going to heaven.”
Pacifists are like nudists. Of course, we wish we could “live like a flower, holding malice like a puppy, waging war like lambkins“ but we do not live in such a time. Doing the right thing at the wrong time… is a bad thing. In this strange mix of Good and Evil where we live, the use of deadly force is sometimes required to stop evil. That is good.
Then there are those who, like the nudist and pacifist, discount the mix of Good and Evil around us and in us, believing that human governance can bring the Kingdom of God. These religious socialists or communists (even theocrats) ignore the history of all such attempts. Humans who compel others to “do good“ quickly become corrupt themselves since they strip their neighbors of freedom, rights and human dignity.
Nudists, pacifists, and most of all, the socialists should be ashamed of themselves.

Thank you for the succint and rational reasoning. I've been trying to explain this to my niece who is now caught up in all this "goddess" crap with all the wishy washies and silly thinking that goes with it.
