From Reuters:
Eight U.S. service members working for the NATO-led force and one Afghan civilian were killed in multiple bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, the alliance said in a statement.
The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said several troops were also wounded in the "multiple complex (bomb) attacks" but would not give further details of the attacks, which come a day after 11 U.S. troops were killed in two helicopter crashes.
Once again, as in yesterday's post, there are the references to NATO led forces... NATO led rather than U.S. led.
And once again, I ask whether this is due to Obama's inability to make the decision to send more troops, troops his Generals have been demanding for months now, thus NATO leads rather than the U.S.
Steve Schippert of ThreatsWatch.org, by way of email, addresses this delayed decision-making:
The Obama White House said weeks ago that they would not make a decision - nay, would not be pressured into a decision domestically - until the Afghan run off was determined. This, the argument went, was to ensure we knew what kind of ally/government we would have in Afghanistan.
Funny thing, that run off. Obama has signaled his decision will be announced within hours of poll closings in Afghanistan next week. It will take days perhaps weeks to know the hand-counted results from across the country.
So which election is he waiting for really? The Afghan elections, with results unknown, or the NJ/NY/VA elections, the results which will be known the night of election day next week?
The truth, to me, is clear. He is avoiding an announcement before US elections which are critical barometers of his policies. And why? Because he will announce a less than full surge, which will be immensely unpopular, criticized and will anger many. This would show up in NJ/NY/VA polls. So he will sve it for after them to damage them less.
If he were truly going to go out to win in Afghanistan, a decision which would be applauded from the center to the right and even among the non-hard left, he would have announced befoer - even close to - the state elections.
Brace yourselves. There is a dithering, withering path ahead.
And our men and women in the military will bear the brunt of this weakness.
Hope and change my ass.

“Hope and change my ass.”
Well, actually Rick, it is change. Change from a strong, decisive leader –Pres. Bush-to a weak, indecisive, putting politics above those in harms way.
Again, thank you all of you Obama voters, thank you very much. This is what you wanted, this is what you got. A Community Organizer masquerading as a president and CinC. Just f*#king wonderful, you voted, people died.

I heard it said today on Morning Joe (the only MSNBC program I can stand besides American Jail) that it is a legitimate reason to take his time to get it right because he wants to be a 2-term president. So let me get this straight, servicemen and women die because his primary need is to get reelected? That's tantamount to MURDER!
