“We don’t really understand why Obama is such a star”

Interesting information coming out of Russia:

Let other capitals go all weak-kneed when President Obama visits. Moscow has greeted Mr. Obama, who on Tuesday night concluded a two-day Russian-American summit meeting, as if he were just another dignitary passing through.

Crowds did not clamor for a glimpse of him. Headlines offered only glancing or flippant notice of his activities. Television programming was uninterrupted; devotees of the Russian Judge Judy had nothing to fear. Even many students and alumni of the Western-oriented business school where Mr. Obama gave the graduation address on Tuesday seemed merely respectful, but hardly enthralled.

“We don’t really understand why Obama is such a star,” said Kirill Zagorodnov, 25, one of the graduates. “It’s a question of trust, how he behaves, how he positions himself, that typical charisma, which in Russia is often parodied. Russians really are not accustomed to it. It is like he is trying to manipulate the public.”

Oh but wouldn't it be sweet for our own 25 year olds to display such wisdom and maturity.

1. Who started the stimulus plan for the financial industry? Why would one launch a stimulus plan if the economy is humming?

2. How much did our invasion of Iraq cost? Where should we spread our democracy to next -- Iran, North Korea?

Besides yourself, who said it was humming? Now a question for you; how much has Pres. Obama given as compared to Pres. Bush?

How much did it cost compared to where our deficit is projected to be in 4/5/6 yrs.?

Also, don’t try to BS here, the cost isn’t the issue so don’t try to make it sound like that’s the reason your obviously against the war.

Yea, that would be horrible, spreading “OUR” democracy around. I mean, look how bad it is in Japan, Germany…the horror. Maybe you’d like to live under the rule of Lil’ Kim or the Mullahs in Iran but since I doubt that’s where you’re commenting from…
