Via e-mail earlier today from an exasperated Steve Schippert who is unable at the moment to get the following published at his place . I asked if I could oblige him and he gave permission. This is worth passing around:
Utterly speechless. Though I will try to find them. The income tax rate for New Yorker City (combined Fed/State/City - yes, folks, NYC has its own additional income tax - my family pays it) is set to become an otherworldly 57% in order to pay for all of the President's "investments," including the looming health care disaster. Now, get what he said yesterday.
As a Senate health committee passed a different version of a health-care reform bill - a milestone for the issue - Obama said on NBC, "The American people have to realize that there's no such thing as a free lunch."
And in a Rose Garden speech, he said the "status quo" on health care is "threatening the financial stability of families, of businesses, and of government. It's unsustainable, and it has to change."
This boggles the mind. Yes there is such a thing as a free lunch - for those on the redistribution end otf the process. Health Care is being sold as a free lunch to those who are already net income-tax consumers through redistribution rather than net contributors. This is Class Warfare and, beyond the policies themselves enacting it, the President of the United States carrying on in a packaged pack of lies strains the ability to maintain a level head it is so disturbing.
Health Care is not "threatening the financial stability of families and businesses." Extortionary taxation is, as it smashes through small business owners and their abilities to meet payroll - for which each employee let go as a result only add to the roll call of growing numbers consuming from the government rather than contributing to it. It's basic freaking math.
The government itself is threatening the financial stability of families and businesses. And it grows worse with every program rammed down our throats.
If the cost of Health Care were the actual primary concern, there would be language in the Bills that expressly excludes illegal aliens from the compensation/coverage process. But, lo and behold, the bills (nor spoken language in explanation) do not.
Every time I hear POTUS or his political fellow-travelers prattle on about financial instability, I recall with white-hot anger the President's gift in his first weeks in office of $900 million from our Treasury to the "Palestinian Authority" to rebuild Gaza, which is a gift to Hamas and an apology for Israel's incursion.
I am spitting nails. I abhor being lied to.

Steve Schippert speaks for me.

“I am spitting nails. I abhor being lied to.”
It’s the lies that get people annoyed. It’s the “I’m not friends with Bill Ayers”, “I didn’t hear Rev. Wright say any of those things”, “I won’t raise taxes on people making less than $250,000”, “My administration will be the most transparent/No lobbyist will work…”, the hired tax cheats, the “stimulus”, etc, etc…Even what he’s kept in place from the “Failed policies of the last eight years” on the War on Terror , though I’m thankful, are lies to those on the Left, who have suddenly found the mute button connected to their “Bush is shredding the Constitution” crapola spewing , ignorant, misguided pie holes.
Hell, I’d rather have them just tell us their gonn’a screw us. Even if I don’t like what they’re doing at least I respect someone for telling me the truth.
"It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition".
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, August 19, 1785

..BTW, when ever I see Mr. Schippert on the tv, I stop what I'm doing and listen intently, for I know what I'm hearing is important and something I need to hear.
Love 'ThreatsWatch' too, a most excellent web site.
