Obama: Recovery Will Take Years Not Months
Now that it has become apparent that Obama's 787 billion dollar stimulus bill hasn't worked? The president seems to be pleading for patience from the American people. As a rule, the American people are a patient lot. They tend to go along a lot farther with idiocy than they should historically. Especially when it concerns their taxes. (Makes one wonder what ever happened to the true tea party revelers and their progeny that have become weaklings).
But when the best that the president of the United States can muster are the lame excuses that he brought to the table yesterday? I believe the patience of Job won't be long in the offing with the average American. Give it another 90 days and the reality will be sitting squarely on the shoulders of every American. And it won't have been shaken, sifted and measured in accordance with what the bible teaches, but rather what the bible prophesied IMO.
According to the president? The stimulus wasn't designed to rescue the economy, only to "stop the free fall." So let's see, it costs almost a trillion dollars just to (in theory) put the brakes on a faltering economy which is still in motion in the wrong direction by the way. So how much will it cost to get the economy to put it in reverse and slowly back out of the ditch? Another trillion? Two? Three? Is it even recoverable at this point, especially considering an 11 trillion dollar deficit and grwoing by the minute.
The president's highlight reel of yesterday lays claim to having propped up state budgets and extended unemployment and assisted with more affordable health care via his stimulus. But where are the jobs? There in lies the problem and the reality IMO. You don't hear him or his minions at treasury talking about job creation or even job maintaining anymore. And they have just as quickly brushed past their projections of an 8% unemployment rate of last February. Now that we are at 9.5 unemployment rate and climbing, there is no longer any talk of creating 3 million new jobs. There is no more talk of maintaining what we presently have. Only the prediction that "it will get worse before it gets better." Tell me something I didn't know before you were elected Mr. president.
And as laughable as it may seem? Old smoking Joe Biden may be the only one who has even approached speaking truth to reality in Washington of late. When the VP said last week that they may have misjudged the economy? (just a tad) That was surely an understatement, but at least it is the closest we have come yet to the truth since the man of change first took office.
And now the president is sending up trial balloons on a potential second stimulus package. Carefully dodging any direct references to a second stimulus himself, he none the less has allowed those inside his administration to throw the dog on the table to see how the people will react. IMO? The thoughts of another trillion in government waste won't play well with middle America. The first stimulus hasn't played well from middle America to the board rooms to the former fawning billionaires Buffet and Soros. And it is playing worse now that the realities of the failure of 787 billion in wasted stimulus are becoming apparent to the average American. Give it time? Do we have time?
I am one of those who happens to believe that the rudder of the ship of state is hard over to the left and we are heading toward the shoals instead of toward the safety of port. There is nothing in the current stimulus or any future stimulus that will save this country, in the absence of common sense cut backs in wasteful Washington entitlements and pork. We have to cut taxes and cut waste and we have to do it now.
We have to cut these wasteful programs and budgets designed solely for bureaucracies that are nothing less than self propelled life blood draining siphons on our collective future as a nation. There in lies the solution Mr. president. there in lies the road to redemption. But I don't think that you see it. You are too blinded by your partisan desires of lofting the socialist brass rings into the arena and your desire to see this nation made over into something completely alien to all.
Last week the phones and emails of the US senate were set ablaze by citizens complaining and demanding that the senate put an end to your cap and trade (tax) bill. And this week the calls will once again reach a crescendo of appeal and demand.
The tide is turning if ever so slowly and the people will not long suffer under the yoke of the fiscal and financial oppression that this man and his philosophies of Marxist socialism are attempting to foist on us all.

We have to cut taxes and cut waste and we have to do it now.
Yeah, Arnie did that in California, how'd that work out again?

Where can I get a T-shirt or baseball cap with that logo?

Hello there salvage. I see you are up to your old self again. Did Arnold cut taxes? And did the California legislature cut the waste in that pathetic state?
I don't think so. but they will now.

Arnold started out with promise, then screwed it up way beyond repair - in the military acronym, FUBAR.
And still there are people in California who do not get the relationship between wanting the government to provide everything under the sun, being taxed to death to do it, and the destruction of that fair state.

Yes he cut taxes and I'm not sure why you call California "pathetic" it's pretty much a red dream state. Anytime the government needs to raise money they don't because paying for stuff apparently is bad.
And now they're on "IOU"s.
I don't know about you but any client who tried to pay me that way would no longer be a client.
But I'm a capitalist.
Tell me, what should a government provide?

Let me see Sal....the only tax that Arnorld lowered or eliminated, was toi do with vehicle registrations in California. Aside from that? He won't go down in history as any great tax cutting republican,
And if you care to recall, Gray Davis was recalled from office for his own dismal failure to reign in a collapsing California budget after the dot.com bubble collapse. that and spending 8 billion more than required on his education programs.
So not sits Arnold, a true RINO if there has ever been one and he can't manage to balance the lop sided entitlement laden California budget either. SSDD (Same sh*t different day) pal.
Davis lost California due to unsustainable budget obligations in the face of the dot.com crash and Arnold is doing the same thing in the face of this recession.
And there isn't a dime's worth of real difference between them. Neither one of them had the balls to step up and make the cuts necessary to save the people of California.
Besides, there are too many Mexican parasites dependent on California for their existence.
It should prove to be interesting to watch once the riots and the burning begins (soon).

My goodness! You're right, Arnie didn't cut taxes, the Dems wouldn't let him. And the one tax cut he did make really put the screws to local government. I assumed he would keep those promises or be thrown out like Davis. In my defense I don't follow Cali politics much.
Now that we've gotten your one right thing out of the way are you seriously suggesting that the solution to California's collapse is to make the state even poorer? How does that make sense I wonder.
And how much do these "parasites" (I call them human beings but I'm not a racist so there you go) actually cost? I assume you're talking about illegal aliens right? Well they don't cost all that much, in fact they contribute to the economy because they work crap jobs for low wages that they pay taxes on automatically and don't actually use any social services those taxes buy. They want to work, they want to make money, that's why they're there. If they wanted to be "parasites" they could have stayed in Mexico. Seems to me that hiking across a desert to mop floors for WalMart is kinda lot of work to be lazy.
And ha! ha! Yes! Mexicans are going to riot because they don't get their free cars from Sacramento. You are a very smart bigot.

Salvage, before you get a hernia from the stress, lets get a few points straight OK.?. Yes, I know the basic facts and history concerning Arnold and what he has and hasn't accomplished since being elected governor of California.
With that said, yes the word is "parasite." As in a parasitic organism that lives off sucking the life blood out of the host and contributes nothing to the host.
Your back handed attempt at correlating the word parasite with racism, simply speaks to your own twisted and malevolent manner of perceiving issues through a pre-skewed lens of liberalism.
Rather than deal with the obvious, your first leap is to attempt to brand the opposition with one of your pet names.
Apparently you are like most liberals, when confronted with facts and in conflict with reasoned argument? You simply assert and charge racism or you launch into some anachronistic diatribe about Nazis or calling your opposition a bigot.
Failing that, the person you are at odds with suddenly becomes one of many of the phobes that the liberal mind attempts to pigeon hole all opposing view points with.
Back now to the original topic shall we? Yes they are parasites and if you don't think or believe that they cost this country and you dearly in the form of lost wages, more taxes, lost benefits and increased cost for education and health care and crime?
Then you are most definitely living in a cave somewhere and eating mushrooms.
And once again your fallacy world of Mexicans only doing the jobs that Americans refuse to do, is but yet another example of the skewed liberal perspective of myopic representation. As if it is the larger picture you are portraying. When in reality, you are taking the exception and attempting to make it the rule.
Try doing some research on the cost of illegal Mexicans annually to the taxpayers of California and then nationally before you go off half cocked and spouting that which you know less than absolutely nothing of.
As for your assertion that I was referring to Mexicans rioting in the streets? Once again you miss the mark by a mile in your assumption of what you "think" I am referring to or talking about.
Meanwhile, here is some reading for you. Try boning up on your facts for a change so that you don't consistently come across as an ignorant liberal bone head talking out his backside with rip it and read it diatribes provided for you by the Dem underground think tanks.
The consensus of knowledge on the topic of illegal Mexicans in California? Indicates that illegals are costing the state of California between 9 and 10.5 BILLION dollars a year.

Did you know that "parasite" was how Hitler described the Jews in "Mein Kampf" but he was a racist and you're not because the Mexicans really are parasites! Dehumanizing people isn't racism! No sir.
Actually it is, the foundation in fact.
The Mexicans coming up to the US are looking for work to feed their families, yes, that's just terrible, that makes them insect like for certain.
And you didn't actually answer any of my points:
They work, they pay payroll taxes without collecting any of the benefits that those taxes are for. They work very hard in fact. I didn't say that they're doing jobs that Americans won't do, I said they work cheap, cheaper than minimum wage, would you do that? I sure the hell wouldn't. Heck I don't pick up my mouse for less than $30 an hour.
Do you have any links that lead to impartial opinions? See those are all anti-immigration organizations, the pro-immigration organizations answer all those "facts" with "facts" of their own.
Here's the reality:
When people are desperate you can't stop them, you can spend billions on fences and border patrols but they'll still get through and WalMart will still hire them (why? DO you like buying cheap stuff? That's why WalMart is cheap, you get the savings).
So what would you rather, billions spent on a keeping HUMAN BEINGS from making a living or billions on HUMAN BEINGS getting jobs, food, education and health care.
Oh I know, it's terrible, people's money going to help people they don't know who may even be a different skin colour! Just awful, practically communism.
What would Jesus do? I bet he'd build that wall a thousand feet high and stand on top of it with a sniper rifle just waiting to whack any wetbacks who dare to try and make a better life for themselves the PARASITES!

You know, I could go back and forth with you forever on these issues and it would change nothing.
I wondered how long it would take for you to bring Hitler and the Nazis in as your defense and gradient of social comparison. (and your attempt at liberal branding). And it didn't take long.
It's called "Godwin's Law" Salvage. And it is indicative of having lost the debate and being incapable of refuting the evidence submitted.
All that is left for the person who chooses to use it is the assertion and accusation of Nazism and Hitler and genocidal institutionalized racism, as some form of comparison of their adversary.
Sorry pal, but you automatically lose the match by default.
But you know what the funny part is? (And yes, there is and can be a funny part to the history of Nazism), the funny part is that those who so eagerly leap at the opportunity to attempt to brand and demonize others with the brand of Nazis today?
They are of the exact same stripe and caliber as the previous generations of appeasing socialist who gladly signed off on Hitler's rise to power. Just as long as his conquest and invasions and murderous march across the face of Europe didn't involved them. Just as long as it allowed them to continue with their cheese and champagne social life. Just as long as he would leave "them" alone? They were more than happy to become the Vichy.
That is the legacy that those who came before you hustling this tripe carried forth Salvage. And you would willingly throw in with the same fascist ideologies (and already have IMO), just as long as the fallacies put forth by the propaganda can somehow salve your purposely dumbed down wits and make you believe that you have actually accomplished something for (so called) social justice. (LOL!!!)
So do me a favor pal, crawl down off your humanitarian hobby horse of "Oh the humanity!"
Save that for the news reels of the crash of the Hindenberg, or the poor bastards in Darfur being killed by the exact same people who you would gladly welcome into this country as supposed "guest workers."
Save it for the Islamist who will gladly separate you from your head and ravage your country. And yes, same it for the poor little misunderstood Mexican peons who just want to come to this country to become Americans according to you and your socialist ilk. (Pulease!)
As has been said many times before, calling illegal aliens undocumented workers is akin to calling a dope dealer an unlicensed pharmacist.
So go hustle your new deal socialism and relativist horse hockey euphemisms some where else Salvage.
As I am not buying your lipstick on a pig dress up of words to attempt to make reality resemble that which you see through your rose colored (pink) glasses.
