Wach the full 5 minutes of this... watch the Inspector General squirm, watch her minions behind her join in the squirming... and let's give credit where credit is due to Alan Grayson, a Democrat, who's doing the grilling here... then understand that similar bureaucrats would be in charge of nationalized health care.
It's frightening:
I'm from the government and I'm here to help you.
We're so freakin' screwed.

I work for the government and while the stereotype of the lazy and stupid government worker is mostly nonsense (notice I say mostly) I do NOT want my health care to be run by the government. The government can do a few things very well. Most things competently. But many more things very poorly. It's the nature of that beast. And because one of the things the government has NOT done well is health care - think Medicare - I don't want that beast having one fricken thing to do with my health care.

TRO,
You make a good point. I, we, tend to lump people work for the government together. I, as well as others, have disdain for the Politician and their appointees, the incompetent ones that is, obviously. People like yourself, common government workers, if you will, are not the target of our ridicule. My Aunt works for the government for example.
I have a theory, (not worth getting into any length now but maybe worth a post sometime), that politicians and the like are basically a representation of our society, warts and all, which may be why we dislike them so. We dislike people who remind us of what we hate about ourselves, yadda, yadda…
Anyways…

O...M...F...G!!
Thanks for posting this, BH! The BEST is the "Oh-crap-I'm-gonna-get-fired" expression on the "well-informed-briefing-aide" in back of the IG.
Too bad Cong. Grayson is about to have his life cut short in a tragic accident, he did a great job.

Anyone who is that critical and brutally honest of the Federal Reserve must have anti-semitic tendencies. Isn't that what "they" say or would have you believe? Anyone who speaks negatively of the Fed must be a bigot.
This inquiry should prove that the Federal Reserve must be audited and not internally.
