Overheard at a Senate hearing yesterday:
"Could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?' It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it."
--Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) to Brigadier General Michael Walsh during Senate hearing Tuesday, when the general repeatedly said, "Yes, ma'am," and "No, ma'am," while answering Boxer's questions at a hearing she chaired on New Orleans' levee system.
What an arrogant (rhymes with witch).
She worked so hard for that title? Give me a break you arrogant leftist ignoramus.
You got that right sugar, it is a "thing" of yours ain't it. An unmitigated arrogance and disrespect for the military period thing.

L... I'll say it...
She's an arrogant bitch...
Big time...
And yes, I meant it... and feel better for saying it...

Calling someone "Sir" or "Ma'am" is a sign of respect. Boxer is unworthy of that respect. The General was simply following the standards of the military and of polite people.

While it is understandable the tenuous position that the general was in, I would have liked to have seen him simply say "what ever you require Madamn Senator."
