First, from Wheat & Weeds:
Interesting interview with Daniel Pipes about Abombnjihad v. Moussavi. I note this:
I am taken aback by the nearly complete absence of Islam in the discussion. One hears about democracy, freedom, and justice, all of which do play a role, but the key issue is the Iranian population’s repudiation of the Islamist ideology that has dominated its lives for the past 30 years. Should the regime in Tehran be shaken by current challenges, this will likely have profound implications for the global career of radical Islam.
That's what has struck me, too. I'm also thinking about the Bush Doctrine a lot these days. How much of what we're seeing in Iran is a direct result of having Free Iraq right next door?
Now... to... well... someone else:
Who thinks these events would have taken place if George Bush were still in office? Anyone?
*crickets*
Who thinks Iran's leaders are really happy about this recent turn of events and don't wish every day that Bush was still around to make them look smart and tough?
Who thinks Ayatollah Khamenei is really stoked about having to give a speech to quell the protests?
Who thinks it's a refreshing change of pace to have people around the world protesting something that happened in Iran, instead of Iraq or Gitmo?
Who thinks it was just a coincidence Obama spoke in Cairo mere days before the votes in Lebanon & Iran?
Don't kid yourselves, boys & girls, the world is watching America again. Good for the world.
Interesting juxtaposition is it not? One perspective grounded in historical fact... the other in butt-kissing, koolaid drinking, reefer smoking stupidity.
Amazing. Then again... not so much... The Obamassiah serves up a potent batch of koolaid and there seems to be an abundance of psychophants willing to lap up every drop.

“Who thinks these events would have taken place if George Bush were still in office? Anyone?”
How silly, the catalyst for the protesting was the election which obviously happened after Pres. Bush left office. So, the real question is “Who thinks this wouldn’t have happened if Pres. Bush was still in office?” Anyone?”
Also, it should be noted that North Korea has done more provocation in the five months of the Obama presidency than during the eight years under Pres. Bush. So using the original logic, go right ahead, answer your own question.
“Who thinks it was just a coincidence Obama spoke in Cairo mere days before the votes in Lebanon & Iran?”
So let me get this straight, Obama is to be given credit for giving a speech before the Iranian election, that his administration is now trying to spin as a reason behind the protests, but yet Pres. Obama could not bring himself until today to give the protesters some words of encouragement because he didn’t want the U.S. to be seen as meddling in Iran’s affairs? Makes perfect sense….to idiots.
“Don't kid yourselves, boys & girls, the world is watching America again. Good for the world.”
I guess now that we have a Democrat as president we no longer have to feel guilty about thinking of how important we are in the world.
Now back to some sanity…
“How much of what we're seeing in Iran is a direct result of having Free Iraq right next door?”
Don't kid yourselves, boys & girls, it’s not a coincidence that Pres. Obama kept so silent about the events in Iran AND if he had had his way Iraq would be anything but free today. Because hey, a free neighbor like Iraq on one side and U.S. troops in Afghanistan on the other doesn’t mean anything compared to a good speech.
