I have the privilege of working with some bright people. Seriously. Creative people with lots of talent.
One of those guys is Jeff and when I found out what he did with a discarded tin used to package that ancient set of breath mints called Altoids, I had to put up a post and let you see it.
Here are some pics and what Jeff had to say about it:
Here’s the grill I made that I mentioned in my status report. It’s made from an Altoids Sours tin, two fan grills from a broken computer power supply and a couple of nuts and bolts. It uses a single charcoal briquette which sits on the bottom rack and the lid doubles as a plate to catch falling ashes. I can’t take all the credit for the Altoids tin BBQ, this guy on instructables made the original however mine is a much better design IMO.
So far I’ve cooked a tiny steak and “burgers” cut from meatballs and it works great! I’m going to try to cook a full size burger on it hopefully this weekend.
Pretty freakin' awesome if ya ask me. More pics can be seen here, here, here and here.

Creatively awesome! Personally, I'm working on a design for a hydrogen fuel cell built from an Altoids tin and Pepsi bottle caps. Don't tell anyone.

This is extremely troubling. Altoid tins turning into charcoal grills! Can robots turning into semis and fighter jets be far behind?

I use to make a lot of things from cigar boxes. ;-)

I forwarded this to my son, who makes all sorts of odd things out of other things, and who has a penchant for re-designing and retooling car parts so they work to his own mysterious specifications.
