Here's a few reasons why this is happening in Europe, Canada and United States:
- Divorce is to common nowadays for married couples, thus reducing the possibility of them having children.
- Homosexuality has alot to do with the decline in population.
- Women with careers just don't have time for a child or a family (also adding to the divorce rate). Sorry ladies, it's the truth.
- Economic stability has a play in this, but to a bare minimum.

Henry, I worked most of my married life and I managed to have three children, thus not only replacing my husband and I, but adding an extra one into the mix.

And if divorce was such a huge factor, why are there so many "blended" families and lots of time and money spent in courts over custody? Seems like lots of kids there.

And homosexuality has lots of neon signs with dancing girls (drag queens), but in spite of what they say, they are not a significant portion of the population. It's just that they're the cranky toddler screaming in the middle of the party.

It's not the careers so much as thinking one has to have everything in sight. We don't have everything, but we live in NYC which has some of the highest taxes, prices and everything else. We did so out of necessity, taking care of family, and it seemed that no matter how hard we tried to move, God didn't have that in His plans for us. Really.

As I see it, it's more greed and selfishness. People don't care for their families the way they used to. Old people are stuck in homes. Children don't feel that their parents are paying attention (and no matter if you both work, you make priorities and kids are the primo priority) and grandparents aren't there like they used to be. Generations are encouraged to be separate species instead of sticking together and fighting life's problems united.

I could say a lot more, but you get the gist. Other than fallen human nature, the situation is not quite as simple as you would like it to be.

Don't forget 53+ million babies aborted since 1973. That is a pretty significant number of our would-be population.

53,000,000.

This is also why Social Security is going bankrupt, and medicare is going bankrupt, and medicade is going bankrupt...

Yep, chuck, that's part and parcel of the greed and selfishness thing.

Imagine what has been aborted - what potential genius, whether scientific, artistic or business acumen, what inventions we don't have, what cures, what music and craft and visual art.

What a shame.

That Mommynator is a two-edged sword.

Think of how many potential Hitlers and Stalins happily won't be around in the future.

Maybe. There is always a risk.

Look what we have in the White House now.
