Leave it to a pro-abortion progressive to introduce legislation designed to decriminalize murdering a 1 year old child:
Murder is murder, and murdering an infant is especially horrible.
Of course, leave it to a rabid pro-abortionist like Jessica Farrar to see otherwise. She’s a Texas state representative, recently honored by Planned Parenthood and the proud owner of a 100% NARAL approval rating. She’s currently trying to force through a bill that would make Catholic hospitals be required to dispense the morning-after pill. Her latest bright idea? To decriminalize infanticide. Introducing Texas HB 3318, the first of its kind in the entire country, known as “the infanticide bill”. It defines infanticide as:
A person commits an offense if the person wilfully by an act or omission causes the death of a child to whom the person gave birth within the 12-month period preceding the child’s death
The bill says that infanticide should not be prosecuted as murder, though, as long as:
… at the time of the act or omission, the person’s judgment was impaired as a result of the effects of giving birth or the effects of lactation following the birth.
Infanticide would become a felony, punishable by no more than two years in prison, with a minimum of 180 days, and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.
Are you sick to your stomach yet?
Yes. Definitely.
But not surprised.

So, in other words, this is a bill going easy on women suffering from postpartum psychosis (much rarer than postpartum depression). It's a bit misleading to say that it decriminalizes infanticide. It doesn't.
I doubt that Ms. Farrer is pro-abortion. Like most Americans who believe that abortion should remain legal, she's probably pro-choice.

Ah, yes, the spurious "pro-choice" is not "pro-abortion" canard. Not too different than the mafia hit-man proclaiming to his target, "Hey, it's nothing personal, just business". It must be comforting for the baby being torn asunder to know that no one is really "for" what is being done.

The choice is murder. Satan is the father of lies and deceptions.

DRF has a point, though. The proposed law doesn't "decriminalize" it "re-classifies." Infanticide would no longer be murder if you can show depression. But if you wait too long and snuff the kid after it's first birthday, THEN they'll throw the book at you!
Murder becomes just a felony. Felonies become misdemeanors. Misdemeanors become acceptable as we continue to "define deviancy down." Yep, that's cultural decay.
Reminds me of an old joke by Steve Martin. "Don't get caught with grass in California. You might get a TICKET!"
So, DRF, do you support this proposed legislation? You are not pro-infanticide, right? You just think a depressed woman should have the right to choose it (if she's willing to "do the time")?

And North Carolina goes the other way...
Raleigh, N.C. — Family members of murder victims spoke out Wednesday in support of proposed legislation that would recognize unborn children as victims in murder cases.

Let’s see, pro-choice is NOT pro abortion because one of the choices is…abortion. Man, that argument is rather silly to say the least.
One is either for, pro, or against, anti, something, it’s quite simple. But I do love the verbal gymnastics that some participate on this and other subjects. They’re so busy trying to make themselves look righteous that they can’t see how foolish they look instead.
It’s rather like the Liberal label, very rarely do you hear someone proclaim that their Liberal, especially a politician. But being called a Conservative, people wear that as a badge of honor.
I also like how Left tells us all how they are for education or clean air and against war. Well, not shitte, we Conservatives are so against education and clean air and yes, we love to go to war, it’s those stack of dead bodies that are so cool.
How big of the pro-choice side to at least give an unborn child a 50/50 chance of living. Yet at the same time their worried about some terrorist being water boarded. Glad they have their priorities straight.

Thank you for letting me know about this bill. I just wrote to my senator and representative to let them know how wrong this bill is. Talking doesn't do anything. We have to let our representatives how we feel - and it is sad to say that currently in our nation animals have more protection than our children. Incidentally, post partum depression is not the only excuse used in this bill. They added lactation...We have lost all common sense.
