First, from a recent Harris poll:
When The Harris Poll® asked a crosssectionof adult Americans to say whom they admire enough to call their heroes, President Barack Obama was mentioned most often, followed by Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King. Others in the top ten, in descending order, were Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Abraham Lincoln, John McCain, John F. Kennedy, Chesley Sullenberger and Mother Teresa.
These heroes were named spontaneously. Those surveyed were not shown or read a list of people to choose from. The Harris Poll was conducted online among a sample of 2,634 U.S. adults (aged 18 and over) by Harris Interactive® between January 12 and 19, 2009.
This of course makes perfect sense in light of the revelation that Jesus was a racist according to some in the Anglican Church of Canada:
The Anglican Church of Canada (ACoC) has published a Lenten reflection that portrays Jesus as a racist who saw the error of his ways after being challenged by the Canaanite woman in Matthew's Gospel. The ACoC was long ago taken over by politically correct bores but, as Anglican Samizdat notes, this "reflection" turns Jesus into a sinner - in Christian terms, a pretty basic heresy. Here's the reflection. Sick-bags at the ready:
“… a Canaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, ‘Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon.’ He answered, ‘I was sent only to the lost sheep of the houseof Israel.’ But she came and knelt before him, saying, ‘Lord, help me.’ He answered, ‘It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.’ She said, ‘Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.’ ” - Matthew 14:22-27
This not a story for people who need to think that Jesus always had it together, because it looks like we’ve caught him being mean to a lady because of her ethnicity. At first, he ignores her cries. Then he refuses to help her and compares her people to dogs.
But she challenges his prejudice. And he listens to her challenge and grows in response to it. He ends up healing her daughter. What we may have here is an important moment of self-discovery in Jesus’ life, an enlargement of what it will mean to be who he was. Maybe we are seeing Jesus understand his universality for the first time.
Barack as Jesus and Jesus as a racist.
And we wonder why we're where we are as a culture and as a nation.
We have literally flipped the world on it's end, defining up as down, good as bad, Obama as Jesus and Jesus as racist. It's an amazing thing to behold in the one sense, quite frightening in the other.
The dumbing down of The West is nearly complete. The bright side is that there's no where to go but up.

It must never have entered some folks minds that Jesus often said and did things to help people come to an understanding of where they were regarding their own thoughts and intentions...
He also seemed to respect humility. Now, that is a very difficult concept for those filled with arrogance to comprehend.

Actually, there is quite a way further down: death camps, re-education camps and gulags; racial war, the Terror (ala France). In short, there is still Hell. Toss in a nuclear World War instigated by the Mullahs, and conversion of the surviving Americans to the worship of Moloch, aka Allah

If any of you get a chance, look up Eddie Izzard on youtube and search for his comedy routine on the origins of the Church of England. Warning: He drops quite a lot of f-bombs, but more as a descriptive than as an obscenity.
His insight into the origins of the CoE are especially interesting, enlightening, and if you think about it, devastatingly true. And he is respectful of the Catholic church and protestants to boot.

Found Mr. Izzard, an odd chap if I do say so meself, here.
I'd suggest he find a different make-up artist and something a little less... feminine... for his feet...
But that's just me.

As he explains at great lengths during one of his other routines, transvestites like girls. He is in fact married with children, and this was his shtick. My youngest girl says he has been using the makeup, etc., less and less - my guess being that now he is well known for himself and his comedy and does not need the rest. Except for the shoes.
