What the hell is "The Office of The President Elect?" Should I salute? Place my hand over my heart? Or simply extend my right arm high and with a gut wrenching Zeik Heil! And Exclaim my loyalty!
I am sitting here watching the live coverage of Barack Obama's selection of Secretary for the Securities and Exchange Commission? And what do I see but Obama and his administration selections speaking from a lectern adorned with the banner and emblem of "Office of The President Elect."
Pardon my naivete? But to my knowledge and understanding of the structure of this country and it's government and elected officials? There is no such thing as an office of the president elect. The president elect is just that, the person elected during the November elections. His/her "office" doesn't begin in :"any" capacity, until after he is sworn in on January 2oth of 2009!
So where in hell did these interloping socialist posers get the idea that they could just announce that he is hold the "office" of president elect. I suspect? they got the idea from the same play they got their faux Obama presidential seal months ago. What a crock of self serving narcissistic crapola! These people are not even in the White House yet and I am already sickened by their elitism and snobbish condensation of not only the American people, but also the office that this messianic poser has been elected to via subterfuge and media dishonesty with the American people.
I sincerely hope that the "people" are watching this and making note of the empty suit that they have lofted to the highest office of this land.

So Locutisprime, can I safely assume you're not feeling the Hope/Change that is coming?
Worst President Elect Ever ;)

This is the continuing deification of this person. People are so drunk and giddy, they have to make the biggest, hugest deal out of his election.
I'm wondering what they're going to be like in a year or two.
The gods don't like hubris.

Thank you Tim, but no, I am not felling the vibe or the waves, or whatever the hell I am suppose to feel from all the Obama drama period. As a matter of fact, the only emotion that I am feeling, is one of escalating disgust at the ignorance and blatant stupidity of the American people, for having ever elected this empty skin suit.
MommyN? In a year or two? The people of this country may have a lot bigger fish to fry, than to be worrying about how they feel about the messianic one. By that time, the worthless sack of Chicago floss? May himself be living in exile in the land of his father in Kenya for his own personal safety IMO.

“I don’t think that Americans want hubris from their next president,” Obama told TIME for the Person of the Year issue (MSNBC, 12/17/08)
Then why are you even here, you flag-dissing, seal-desecrating arrogant ass??
Typical liberal rhetoric vs. reality.
BTW: In his month and a half as president-elect, Barack Obama has planned an FDR mass gov't expansion, an LBJ welfare state, a Carter blame-America-first foreign policy, and a Clinton retread cabinet.
So where does the hope and change part come in???

The appropriate gesture is to raise your hand with the palm facing your face and then raise the middle finger.
