What do you do when the economy is in the tank?
Not this:
Gov. David Paterson has proposed a so-called 'iPod tax' on downloaded music and entertainment services to help his state close a $15.4 billion budget deficit.
However, Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) products aren't Paterson's only targets. He has proposed 88 new fees and taxes that go far beyond, including on movie tickets, taxi rides, soda, beer, wine, cigars, massages, cable and satellite TV.
That's just one aspect of Paterson’s proposed $121.1 billion budget released yesterday. The budget attempts to make state government leaner while relying on a wave of new taxes and fees that will be passed down to businesses.
And who does he think the businesses will pass these new taxes and fees on to?
Loon.

Basically everything will now be taxed. No word yet if oxygen is still free.
Think I’ll kill two birds with one stone and stock up on beer and booze before the first of the year.
Here’s my favorite, we New Yorkers will have to turn in our license plates, then pay another $25 to get a new one. How about just taking our money and just let us keep our perfectly good license plates Governor?
Also, I heard welfare recipients are to receive 10% more next year. So that’s a relief.
‘I lov…pay taxes in New York’
*Exactly why do I still live here?*

We in Staten Island have the option of jumping over to New Jersey to buy our soda, beer, liquor and go to the movies, as well as not paying taxes on clothing and shoes.
Guess what this family will be doing more of?

He wants a tax on any drinks that aren't at least 70% fruit juice, citing statistics on how overweight the nation is. So, how do we reduce the obesity of government? Huh, huh? Not by balancing the budget and cutting out useless spending and waste, noooooo sir, tax the people more please! That will help the economy and all the companies out there that will lose sales, which in turn will cause layoffs, and the twain will reduce the tax base. That's the way to fix your budget problems! Idiots!
