Yet another reversal on changing a Bush policy

You know this is pissing the left off royally:

In light of the downturn, Mr. Obama is also said to be reconsidering a key campaign pledge: his proposal to repeal the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. According to several people familiar with the discussions, he might instead let those tax cuts expire as scheduled in 2011, effectively delaying any tax increase while he gives his stimulus plan a chance to work.

That would be because he knows that increasing taxes on those who provide jobs is absolutely stupid most of the time but especially during an economic downturn.

Gnashing of teeth, especially by those suffering from BDS, sure to follow.

I'm finding all this really interesting.
It's a lot like what happens up here in Canada. Liberals mock conservatives and then adopt their policies. And when the Liberals bring forward the policies...suddenly the policies are A-OK.

Now that I see it happening in another country, it seems like there should be a universal principle in there somewhere.

I'm still betting that Mr. Obama, after having his security briefings, had a bit of bowel trouble with the weight and fear of it all.
