That was awesome.

"Country music is better than rock" is an opinion I, personally, find disagreeable.

"We need to sit down with our enemies and talk out our differences without preconditions" is an opinion that isn't even a legitimate one to have.

The trouble with the way our country has been talking out these disputes, is that the right-wing and the left-wing both get to participate in discussions about what's agreeable -- but the left-wing enjoys a complete monopoly, or close to a monopoly, in hashing out what's legitimate. And so now it has come down to this: A war protester's insistence that soldiers engage in civilian rape and murder, is a legitimate opinion to have...someone else saying that said war protester may not be a "true patriot," is somehow not.

You're headline says it perfectly, Rick. Republicans need to stop concentrating all their energies on debating what's correct, and spend some energy on debating what's legitimate and reasonable. They've allowed the enemy to own this spot of turf, and run roughshod all over it. When they do that it gives the appearance that the right-wing is acknowledging the left-wing is correct, or could be correct. And so we have the spectacle of congress nationalizing the mortgage lending industry, supposedly as an emergency measure, and then gloating about it on camera with huge smiles on their faces. This abuse of logic has a very real possibility of destroying the whole damn country, in a fistful of different ways.

This is the Sarah I wanted at the debate.

Sigh.

They may have set her free! Today she was talking about Obama "pallin around with terrorists"!
