Charlie Gibson engages in verbal sex with Barack Obama (UPDATED)
I watched the interview with Obama last night and that's the conclusion I came to. His condescension, his arrogance, his looking over his glasses and down his nose at the interviewee and his smirks, all were missing. Instead, a smiling, jovial, warm, soft-spoken and eyeglass-less Gibson sat across a table from Obama and literally kissed his tail.
It was not the Charlie Gibson that interviewed Sarah Palin.
As Mrs. BH and I watched the interview, we wondered when they were going to consummate the relationship.
It was sickening.
The bias now so evident that you have to be a complete dolt not to see it.
Or an Obama supporter.
Same damned difference.
UPDATE: Here, in part, is a some of that interview, particularly Obama's relationship with Ayers, a place where a hard hitting journalist might just... well... hit a little harder:

WHAAAA! WHAAAA! Media mean to Sarah! Ask her hard questions like "What do you read?" and "What experience do you have that makes you qualified to be a heartbeat away from the President?"!! UNFAIR!!! WHAAAAAAAA!! WHAAAA!
Cry baby, cry.

Glad I missed it then. I was watching the Hannity interview of McCain and Palin. But does it really surprise anyone in this country? that the MSM is so thoroughly in the tank for the democrats and Obama?

When will you learn the media has been in the bag for the Dali Bama since Iowa and has been kissing his butt since then. This man could stand on a stage and admit to all the thing that we have been saying about him. He could admit he is in fact muslim and Vlad Putin in drag that Michele was really Hugo Chavez and you would not hear it on any MSM television or print media, and would be praise by the braindead at the Dailly Kos and DU for his "Honesty".

Hey Salvage,
From your attitude, I think you got your name wrong.
Salvage is what you save, not what you throw away.
How can salvage spew garbage?
Posted by: myronhalo | Thursday, October 09, 2008 at 01:02 PM
>he is in fact muslim
So what if he was? Muslims can't be President?

I came in here to give Rick a polite rebuke for announcing that all Obama supporters are dolts, since I know of a few who aren't (they just don't pay close attention to the cause-and-effect that takes place within politics).
Then I saw salvage's contribution to the discourse.
Rick's comments can stand, as far as I'm concerned. And salvage, since your power to change minds is so aptly demonstrated, I think your words should be spread far and wide. You have educated me, sir. Completely changed my worldview. A very capable representative of Obama supporters, you are. They deserve you.

Good pick-up.
Anyone who says that journalists- no matter how sincere and well intentioned- cannot usually be counted on to overcome their bias.

"It was not the Charlie Gibson that interviewed Sarah Palin."
So, this Charlie Gibson was smart enough to know the meaning of the phrase "exact words?"
Geez, if Obama gets elected, we're gonna be in for four years of mind-numbing stupidity from every news outlet except FOX. Come to think of it, we're gonna be in for four years of mind-numbing stupidity from Obama. The only positive there is a likely Republican resurgence in 2010. I say that because a) that's usually the norm for the party out of power, and b) the Democrats in charge of their party are so goddamned stupid that things would spiral out of control with them at the wheel (just look at the last two years of Congress).

Didn't see it, but I'm not surprised. It would be interesting to see some clips of these two interviews side by side.

. . . verbal sex with Barack Obama.
Can I throw up now?
It isn't only Charlie boy. It's Chris Matthews with the tingles up his legs (he ought to be medically evaluated, because tingles in the legs could mean a whole host of other pathologies), Katie Couric and the stupid question brigade, Tom Brokaw who sounded like he constantly wanted to hock up a loogie and didn't even come near any really controversial subjects like infanticide.
This is what happens when you let networks broadcast sex on TV.
Frankly, I'd rather watch open heart surgery.

Did you see Gibson's interview with McCain tonight? Same thing...no glasses on his nose, relaxed demeanor, almost reverential to McCain. I thought Gibson was in the tank for McCain. Just goes to show you that people see what they want to see...although seems like McCain/Palin supporters see what they want to see through glasses smeared with a lot of anger and ugliness. It's weird how outraged Republicans are, given the fact that their own fellow Republican criminals and incompetents have been running the country for the past eight years.

Well, that was definitely an infantile attack, googoo. Just like your name.
More personal attacks without substance.
Try some fact - any fact.
Now go get your bottle or your binky and your banky and go to bed. You're tired and cranky.

Charlie Gibson made Sarah Palin look like an idiot?
Charlie Gibson made Barack Obama sound like a thoughtful, intelligent guy?
Maybe Sarah Palin looked like an idiot because that's what she is. Maybe Obama sounded presidential because that's how he is.
I fail to see how anyone can look at Palin's disastrous interview with Katie Couric and not come away convinced that she is utterly incapable of assuming the office she seeks.
I'm not crazy about Obama, but can you imagine the disaster if McCain or Palin become President? They are disqualified by their policies for one thing, but especially because of their character issues. McCain is impetuous, erratic, and prone to panic. Palin is ignorant and vicious. These are lethal combinations.

Media hostility toward conservatives and Republicans, and favoritism toward liberals, socialists, and Democrats, is different today only in that it has become overt. No possibility remains of anyone on the Right getting evenhanded treatment from the Old Media; their conception of themselves will not permit it.
Perhaps it's partly revenge for the several takedowns of Old Media figures by conservatives for grotesque deceits. The Dan Rather / "TexANG Memos" forgery is only the best known.
Concerning this "salvage" character, if I were to show you some of the E-mail he's sent me at Eternity Road, you'd wonder why he's allowed to run around loose.

Francis W. Porretto,
We know all too well about salvage. Nothing would surprise us, we've heard it all.

You know how Rush Limbaugh insists liberals should not be completely wiped out, that there oughtta be a couple left to put on display in a museum somewhere so people can be reminded?
That's sort of the position salvage occupies here.

The term 'useful idiot' comes to mind.

Yeah, freedom of speech is a total bitch ain't it? If only you lived in a country where they lock people up for saying stuff you don't like.
Alas, if only Iran's theocracy were based on your superstitions rather than foreign ones you'd fit right in and the likes of me would be imprisoned, exiled or dead and you wouldn't have to suffer so.

I took Mr. Porretto’s comment as that he thinks you’re a little off your rocker. Not unlike what you have accused everyone here of, and worse. So stop with the self righteous BS already.
And what the hell is with all the strawman arguments lately? Your inability to debate the issues at hand is nothing short of pathetic. You come in here, fly off the handle, put words in peoples mouth and then wonder why someone slings a crack at ya’. Don’t agree with anything, fine. Wann’a have a debate, fine. Act like you a jerk as you always do, you’ll get what’s coming. Deal with it, don’t try and play the victim. That crap got old a long time ago.
