Unadulterated, in the tank, absolute, unequivocal...
... bias:
The covers of Us Weekly’s take on the Obamas and its take on Palin are emblematic of the media’s double standard of coverage given Democrats and its coverage given Republicans.
Profiles of Obama are soft and fuzzy with no mention of the menagerie of anti-American or crooked or crooked and anti-American kooks who have pushed Obama to the center stage of American politics: Bill Ayers, Frank Marshall Davis, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko and Nadhmi Auchi.
His drug use — marijuana and cocaine – is seldom referenced.
While he is “credited” with a single mom (sometimes a teen-age single mom) glossed over are her possibly bigamous marriage to his father, her second marriage, and Obama’s formative years in Indonesia.
Contrast that with the bizarre way that Bristol Palin’s pregnancy has been overplayed. It’s news. But it is not bigger news than a convention or the most massive hurricane in 3 years.
It’s called overkill.
...
Reporters are supposed to ask questions and columnists are supposed to render opinions. But when a media feeding frenzy involves a 17-year-old cheerleader, I suggest everyone take a long walk and clear his or her head.
It is unfair to Palin to have to go through this. It is also unfair to Obama to watch her be turned into a victim overnight by a press that is too eager to destroy something they do not understand: A mother of 5 who hunts, fishes, rides snowmobiles, opposes abortion, questions evolution and is a life member of the NRA. She is outside their realm of understanding, but much more real to most voters outside the Beltway.
We are witnessing something familiar to lovers of history. It's yet another high tech lynching, only this time, it's not a black man appointed to the Supreme Court. It's a conservative woman chosen to be the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.
There should be shame amongst the press today. There should be.
There isn't.
Instead, there's collusion, manipulation, lies, rumors, and bias. And all meant to destroy a woman and her family.
An incredible time in American history.

"Instead, there's collusion, manipulation, lies, rumors, and bias."
Dare I call this all a "Vast Left Wing Conspiracy," or did someone else already say that?
And I'm sure others have already said it, but it bears repeating - If Palin were a Democrat, she'd be a media darling and praised for her convictions. Additionally, any attack against her (even if wholly legitimate) would be seen as sexist. But since she's a conservative Republican...
Why doesn't the pinhead media take it even further? Why don't they go attack McCain's POW history? I dare them. I'm sure Palin can take the attacks against her and give it back, but I'm just itching to see McCain really rip the pinhead media a new one.
