What Uranium in Iraq? What victory in Iraq? (UPDATE)
This uranium in Iraq:
The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program _ a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium _ reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.
The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" _ the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment _ was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.
What's now left is the final and complicated push to clean up the remaining radioactive debris at the former Tuwaitha nuclear complex about 12 miles south of Baghdad _ using teams that include Iraqi experts recently trained in the Chernobyl fallout zone in Ukraine.
"Everyone is very happy to have this safely out of Iraq," said a senior U.S. official who outlined the nearly three-month operation to The Associated Press. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.
While yellowcake alone is not considered potent enough for a so-called "dirty bomb" _ a conventional explosive that disperses radioactive material _ it could stir widespread panic if incorporated in a blast. Yellowcake also can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment.
This victory in Iraq:
Al-Qaeda is driven from Mosul bastion after bloody last stand.
The murder toll is dropping, the insurgents are on the run. Our correspondent is on the front line as the Iraqi army takes control.
As time continues to pass, as the country continues to move toward stability and peace, history continues to draw a much more favorable picture supporting our incursion into Iraq.
To the gnashing of teeth of the leftist and liberal naysayers in this country who cannot stand the idea of a positive outcome in that region.
UPDATE: Don Surber, with more truth than a liberal can bare:
Joe Wilson is a liar who should be investigated for contempt of Congress charges regarding knowingly giving false testimony.
There is a happy ending. This stuff is not in the hands of terrorists, thanks to President Bush’s actions for which he has been hammered by the left for 5+ years
...
There is a reason Bush has not fought back against critics: National security. There are secrets a president cannot divulge in his lifetime. History vindicates the Harry Trumans — and punishes the Bill Clintons. Never equate popularity with quality.
The second story, Iraqis are purging their country of al-Qaida.
This fairy tale about no al-Qaida in Iraq is almost as bad as the fairy tale about a civil war in Iraq.
...
So much for Reid’s “The war is lost.”
...
Obama is unfit to tie Bush’s shoelaces.
I know not how November’s election will go.
But I got the war right.
That’s good enough for me and the other 30% of America who has stood by the Best President of the 21st Century — George Bush.
OK, he’s the only one in that category so far. But he will be a tough act to follow.

Okay so you can't say Saddam didn't have any Uranium and you can't say he didn't have any Ricin and you can't say he didn't have any Anthrax.
And the dude was hiding jet planes in the sand, so you can't even say he didn't have a place to hide anything.
But he was a completely safe li'l teddy bear because the U.N. did such a fantastic job neutralizing him with all those strongly-worded letters.

Back from vacation too soon.
Well, this explains why Iran was so hot to see that Iraq's government failed and that chaos ensued.

Once again evidence of two realities.
First, that Saddam Hussein did in fact have the means, ability and desire to pursue nuclear and other weapons (AKA WMD).
Secondly, that the war in Iraq (post surge) is winding down and being won. Al Qaeda is on the run and looking at the future reminder of their own Alamo. but you wouldn't know it by the news coverage today in the media.
And you don't see these headlines or the news being blared from the roof tops of the New York Times, Washington Post, or CNN and MSNBC.
Their motto is, "bad news is good news and no news is worse news and good news is the worst possible news." Therefore, they don't cover it beyond the splib report.
One quick check of Drudge or even Fox (right now) demonstrates those principles of modern day journalism. Either of those stories have already been relegated to the splib pile of yesterdays bad news anomalies.

So. Stupid.
Seriously, you really are.
How many times is this now? How many times have you posted OMG!!! WMD!! IRAQ!! FOUND!!!?
How many victories over al Qeada in Iraq are you going to trumpet without wondering why there have been so many victories with nothing won?

Maybe because you stupidly have denied, despite evidence, that there ever were WMD in Iraq.
You can't have it both ways, salvage. Either there were and most was moved to Iran and Syria, and some buried that was later dug up by us, or there weren't any.
Make up whatever is left of your mind.
Then ask the average Iraqi if nothing has been won.

Did ya read the link? It explains in very simple words the reality of that nuclear material.
Have ya noticed that the White House, the State Department and the Pentagon have all officially said OFFICIALLY that the WMD they claimed as justification for the invasion WERE. NOT. THERE.
>Then ask the average Iraqi if nothing has been won.
Shall I ask the dead ones? Shall I ask the families of the dead ones? Shall I ask some of the FOUR MILLION that have been displaced? Shall I ask the mother of the dead children resulting from Iraq's soaring infant mortality rates? Shall I ask the refugees working as prostitutes in Jordan and other countries? Shall I ask the ones that want America to withdraw?

You're a cop, I'm on parole, I'm not allowed to carry a gun, you think I have a revolver in my pocket. So you say "I think Morgan has a revolver in his pocket and I want him frisked."
I get frisked, and you find I have a Sig Sauer P220. Which is not a revolver.
Morgan the parolee must have been a harmless teddy bear then, right? Just like Saddam Hussein?
I wish liberals like you had as much antipathy and acrimony for these deadly terrorists as you have for conservatives. I wish you questioned Saddam Hussein's legitimate use of this deadly material, as passionately as you question the God-given right of law-abiding (non-parolee) private citizens to defend their families with Sig Sauer P220's.
