Climate Change Delusion
The Church of Chicken Little's first documented victim:
PSYCHIATRISTS have detected the first case of "climate change delusion" - and they haven't even yet got to Kevin Rudd and his global warming guru.
Writing in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, Joshua Wolf and Robert Salo of our Royal Children's Hospital say this delusion was a "previously unreported phenomenon".
"A 17-year-old man was referred to the inpatient psychiatric unit at Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne with an eight-month history of depressed mood . . . He also . . . had visions of apocalyptic events."
(So have Alarmist of the Year Tim Flannery, Profit of Doom Al Gore and Sir Richard Brazen, but I digress.)
"The patient had also developed the belief that, due to climate change, his own water consumption could lead within days to the deaths of millions of people through exhaustion of water supplies."
But never mind the poor boy, who became too terrified even to drink. What's scarier is that people in charge of our Government seem to suffer from this "climate change delusion", too.
And isn't it grand that both McCain and Obama seem to be deluded on this point as well? Seriously... isn't it great that the only two options we have (at this point) are two guys who've bought foursquare into the delusion?
It's just superbly thrilling.
Here's hoping the 17 year old undergoes an exorcism of sorts to rid himself of the delusional demons that have him scared out of his wits (literally). And a pox on the Bishops, priests and lay leaders of this God forsaken movement. A debilitating pox.
With thanks to Don Surber who opines:
To be fair, if it were not global warming, it would be something just as asinine. No nukes. Communism. Every generation has its people who see apocalypse just around the corner.
Mankind is a very small and insignificant part of a universe that man cannot begin to comprehend. The idea that man can destroy this planet is almost as goofy as believing that polar bears can.

I saw that on Drudge last night and almost spit coffee all over my screen. But the reality is not laughable.
And if the liberals don't win the White House this go round? I literally see a lot of them becoming involved in ecoterrorism.
EnvironMENTALISM It is a mental disease IMO.

Envirowhackism, extreme vegetarianism/veganism, welfare state-ism, etc.
They're all mental diseases.
