Hello double standard
Michelle (the smart one, not the bitter one), has a post up today pointing to this PowerLine piece detailing yet another gaffe made thus far by Barack Obama:
Barack Obama must be the most gaffe-prone politician in memory. Today, he delivered a Memorial Day speech in New Mexico. After greeting the local Democratic Party dignitaries, he began:
On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.
Memorial Day honors those who have died in our nation's military service. Is it possible that Obama does not know this? Sometimes the things that come out of his mouth defy understanding.
Imagine, if you would, the hullabaloo if any Republican, much less one already a President or one running for the same, had been making the same mistakes, time and again. Just imagine.
Yet, despite all this, and despite the fact that the only place you'll read about these gaffes is the blogosphere, you have liberals and progressives making these kinds of comments:
The one thing with Obama that I have hesitation about is the lack of foreign policy experience, but Bush didn't have much either. The difference is, I trust Obama's thought process MUCH moreso than GW's.
Or this comment made in reply to Hillary's stupid, and I do mean stupid, remarks about RFK over the weekend:
It is the same thing as what is happening now to Hillary Clinton, regarding her comments of Robert Kennedy. If you listen to the whole statement, she is only saying that having the nomination period extend into June is not unusual. But people are making a big deal about her mentioning the fact that Robert Kennedy was assasinated at that time. She didn't say anything negative about him, just that at the time of his assasination, he was running for the nomination and it was June. It gets so tiring to hear all the spin Dr.'s spin their controversies, making something out of nothing.
Amazing juxtaposition is it not? The absolute ignoring of the repeated stupidity coming from the mouths of leftists running for President while these same types want to play up the alleged stupidity of G. W. Bush.
What hypocrisy... or worse... what abject stupidity in and of itself.
One or the other, neither all too flattering of those engaged in the double standards. And there are so many of them.
