... before it's released. My, that's surprising:
Congressional Democrats are trying to undermine U.S. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus' credibility before he delivers a report on the Iraq war next week, saying the general is a mouthpiece for President Bush and his findings can't be trusted.
"The Bush report?" Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin said when asked about the upcoming report from Gen. Petraeus, U.S. commander in Iraq.
"We know what is going to be in it. It's clear. I think the president's trip over to Iraq makes it very obvious," the Illinois Democrat said. "I expect the Bush report to say, 'The surge is working. Let's have more of the same.' "
The top Democrats — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California — also referred to the general's briefing as the "Bush report."
Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said Gen. Petraeus' report was potentially compromised by the White House's involvement in drafting it.
"If the same people who were so wrong about this war from the start are writing substantial portions of this report, that raises credibility questions," he said.
And another leading Democrat is bashing America and praising an unabashed enemy of the state. My, that's surprising:
After praising Syria following a meeting in Damascus with President Bashar Assad, Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich declared he will not visit troops in Iraq during his Middle East tour because he considers the American military presence in Iraq to be illegal.
"I feel the United States is engaging in an illegal occupation ... I don't want to bless that occupation with my presence," Kucinich said in Lebanon, according to the Associated Press. "I will not do it."
The Ohio congressman accused the Bush administration of destabilizing the Middle East and praised Syria for receiving Iraqi refugees.
"What most people are not aware of is that Syria has taken in more than 1.5 million Iraqi refugees," Kucinich said, according to the AP. "The Syrian government has actually shown a lot of compassion in keeping its doors open and being a host for so many refugees."
What Kucinich is clearly unaware of, or worse, intentionally ignoring, is that put forth by another Democrat just a couple of weeks ago, one not exactly speaking the party line:
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) writes today in the Wall Street Journal that the U.S. “road to victory” in Iraq goes through Damascus, and urges Congress to “send a clear and unambiguous message to the Syrian regime“:
The United States is at last making significant progress against al Qaeda in Iraq–but the road to victory now requires cutting off al Qaeda’s road to Iraq through Damascus. […]
It is therefore time to demand that the Syrian regime stop playing travel agent for al Qaeda in Iraq.
When Congress reconvenes next month, we should set aside whatever differences divide us on Iraq and send a clear and unambiguous message to the Syrian regime, as we did last month to the Iranian regime, that the transit of al Qaeda suicide bombers through Syria on their way to Iraq is completely unacceptable, and it must stop.
Kucinich has indeed sent a clear and unambiguous message to the Syrian regime and more importantly to the men and women who serve in the United States Military.
He has chosen to side with those who are aiding and abetting the enemy.
Traitorous bastard.

And, of course, there's Sen. Schummer telling us that our Marines have failed and that the violence in Anbar has dropped only because local warlords saw how incompetent our marines were and, therefore, stepped up to end the violence on their own. Traitor. Scum of the earth. Liar. For some reason, those words aren't strong enough.

When will the rest of America wake up and realize that democrat, terrorists, traitor, and enemy of the state are interchangable words?

Patrick,
Traitor? Scum of the earth? Liar? Even though he may be all of the above, I am disappointed to read those comments above your name.
