Bush walking the border line
I watched Bush's speech tonight (text can be found here).
Impressions? Too little, too late. But one can hope that it's a beginning. Or the beginning of a beginning.
I think he had a chance to get out in front and show some serious leadership, maybe actually surprise some people but I don't think he accomplished that.
My gut is that this was done to shore up the base.
I'm not sure it'll work.
But really, where will they go?









With this speech, the Republicans have lost the midterm and 2008 elections.
70+ percent of Americans want the border closed...period. That has to be done first before any plan is implemented to legitimize the long-term illegals in this country. The current administration is totally blind to what the country wants, and they're going to pay for it...as they should.
