Back on March 1, I said:
Bets are solid that political pressure is being applied by pro-abortion groups and things here are likely to get seriously mucked up.
This is seriously mucked up:
A Suffolk General District judge today dismissed the case against a mother who was charged with aborting her own child in February. She was supposed to give birth that day.
Tammy Skinner of Nancy Drive was sentenced to 30 days in jail for filing a false police report. General District Court Judge James D. Moore suspended all of the jail time.
Skinner, 22 at the time, called police for help from a cell phone at a car dealership in downtown Suffolk around 4 a.m. on Feb. 23, saying she had been shot. Her unborn baby girl died.
Police later determined that Skinner shot herself in the stomach. She was charged with illegally inducing an abortion, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and filing a false police report.
The Commonwealth's Attorney office also asked the judge to drop the firearm charge because it applies only to certain felonies, but not inducing an abortion.
Shoot a full term baby in the womb on the day it was due to be delivered, killing it.
And walk free 60 days later.
Mucked up is an understatement.
