Consider Christ: A Royal Coronation
It's Palm Sunday.
What a privilege it must have been to be part of the parade where Jesus rode into Jerusalem as her new king! With branches waving & hosannas ringing, the people publicly proclaimed him God & treated him to a royal coronation ceremony: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven & glory in the highest!"
The Pharisees, troubled by the crowd, tested Jesus by asking him to rebuke his followers for naming him God. Jesus’ answer is a bit surprising. "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
Did you hear that? Jesus said his followers could be replaced by stones. We, who call him God, are replaceable by those back-breaking nuisances that get picked out of the fields.
Thanks a lot.
Truthfully, it is Jesus’ calmly stated phrase that reveals the magnitude of God’s love for us. He doesn’t need us. God is complete & capable of accomplishing his work with rocks. In fact, working with rocks would probably be easier. They don’t argue, make plans of their own, or attempt to do God-sized jobs with human-sized hands.
But, he doesn’t want rocks. He wants us. And, he doesn’t need us; he wants us.
The creator of the universe, powerful enough to control the world & everything in it, wants you. This is huge. So many spend a lifetime trying to measure up – to the demands of other gods, to the demands of other people, to the demands of themselves. What a privilege to have the opportunity to be a part of this peace offered to us by one who has nothing to gain from us. With God, we don’t have to measure up. We can’t.

Consider for just a moment that rock as a spiritual rock! Does that make a little more sense? We often overlook the fact that the Bible is God's Word and understand(clearly) that He is a Spirit; which, in fact, would make the words spiritual words- there will be those who see and hear, but NOT see and hear with there hearts(spiritually)
