CNN, can we get an explanation for this?

CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH
**Exclusive**
At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!
The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.
As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."
One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.
"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"
I'm sure there's an innocent explanation for this right? I mean, I'm sure it was some technical glitch, some hiccup in video equipment, some malfunction that a technician will speak to as for the reason for this... right?
Yea... right...
One can blindly hope...
UPDATE: Ian, as always, has the video. And Reynolds points us to Evan Coyne Maloney who thinks people like me are over-reacting. I hope he's right.
There are plenty of examples of media bias that are far more provable. To latch onto a few flashes of an "X" as major evidence of bias--when no such evidence exists beyond the act itself--undercuts the possibility of being taken seriously when talking about the more tangible stories.
Maybe CNN should get the benefit of the doubt. There's an old saying: Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. Given CNN's recent performance in the marketplace, that statement seems apt.

I have no doubt glitches like this happen all the time.
Of course, if they do, why don't more people see them? And what are the chances that said glitch just happens to occur when a favorite CNN target is on the screen?

I have no doubt glitches like this happen…
Glitch? By definition a temporary or random hardware malfunction…. Like, audio with no video, video with no sound… I am certain that glitches do not appear as a big black “X” that appears over someone’s face with a quote beneath it.
Without question this was intentional. At very least it demonstrates that CNN is not in control of its own signal.
happen all the time…
Name one…

"favorite CNN target"? What freakin' planet do you live on? CNN is owned by TimeWarner, one of the biggest companies on the planet. They, like Rupert Murdoch, know where their bread is buttered. It ain't by pulling silly stunts or even by having liberal editorial policies. You see what you want to see. You interpret stories that may be reporting facts accurately as having 'liberal bias' because you don't like the facts.
Honestly, it's hilarious to watch you people whine like school kids over an X on the screen. The fact that you have your panties all in a bunch because it was on Dick "let's torture people" Cheney's face is just disturbing, given that you actually claim to be christian.

Zos,
I believe you claim to be a Christian... and I also believe the claim has validity. And I also believe that you have no evidence that Dick Cheney has ever said "let's torture people" or that he is, ipso facto, for torture as you're alleging.
Does that false (or in the least baseless) accusation invalidate your Christianity?
