Pastor Chuckels is a frequent visitor here at Brutally Honest and also on a site called DesperatePreacher.com. There he posted this most definite pro life story:
I was teaching a college ethics class for my oldest son tonight as he is away in DC for a convention on mentoring children with incarcerated parents. One part of the material was on the issue of abortion. While going through the issue of victims of rape having an abortion I was covering the different points of view favoring abortion, namely that is would not be right to deny an abortion since that would victimize the lady twice- first the rape then having to carry the child.
A young lady, 19 as it turned out, asked if she could speak. She then told the class that the baby she was carrying was the result of being raped by two men she had never seen before or since. She is eight weeks from delivery. She is a Methodist pastors daughter.
She said she asked for a 'morning after pill' at the hospital only to find out when she later discovered she was pregnant that the hospital had not given one to her! She shared her emotional journey with us that had finally brought her to the place that she loves and is anxious to have the child, a little girl.
She has the full support of her parents and amazing to me she said that the possibility of an abortion was never discussed, only adoption. She is going to raise the child.
When she finished there was a spontaneous applause from the class. It was a very moving experience for me.
A student then asked her what she was going to tell the child about the child's father? She responded that one day she would tell the girl the truth when she thought the girl was ready, and tell her that even though she was the result of a rape that she considered her a gift from God.
It took me a few minutes to be able to go on with the class but I promised to pray for her. I don't know how each of us might feel about the girl's decision but I would like to ask you to say a prayer for this brave girl. Just call her Mary, though that is not her real name, I want to protect her privacy on that.
Thank you so much!
God Bless,
chuckels
Honor Pastor Chuckels and pray for Mary, pray for her unborn child. May she inspire more of the same.

Yes. What a story of bravery and faith. By all means we should be praying for that small, small, minority of women who would take the harder, harsher, more self-sacrificing way against a tide. God bless her and all who carry this message.
Hiya, Rick. How you been?

David!
Doing fine here except for the silence coming from one particular spot in the blogroll..
Hope you're doing well... hope one day soon to see you return... your 'voice' is missed enormously...
