... MSM yawns...
This is somewhat old news:
No one expects Dean, famously outspoken, to completely muzzle himself. Dean jokes that the Washington insider's definition of a gaffe is "when you tell the truth and they think you shouldn't have."
During a meeting Friday with the Democratic black caucus, Dean praised black Democrats for their work for the party, then questioned Republicans' ability to rally support from minorities.
"You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room?," Dean asked to laughter. "Only if they had the hotel staff in here."
His style ever will be blunt: "We have to never be afraid to say what we believe," he insists.
Hmmm... so what does Howard Dean believe about blacks based on what was said here?
And do you wonder why we've not heard more about this? Would we have heard more if say, any conservative Republican would've said it?
UPDATE: David Flanagan at BlogCritics.Com weighs in:
So, does Howard Dean believe that members of the Black Community are disproportionately represented as hotel staff in this country?
It's demeaning, it's belittling, and I'm completely floored that he would level such an insulting remark upon this community. If ever members of the African American community in this country wanted evidence of how much they are taken for granted by the Democratic Party, this is a perfect example.
Nodding head vigorously in agreement.
AND MORE: Juliette goes bananas over alleged racist acts... this while Dean's racist statements are ignored by the see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil of Howard Dean monkees in the MSM. Somewhere here there's a connection...

That was what I thought when I posted that quote but few got it. Glad David did.

Non sequiter: Peggy Noonan wrote this at Opinion Journal today when praising blogs. It's a little scary, don't you think?
"...Finally, someday in America the next big bad thing is going to happen, and lines are going to go down, and darkness is going to descend, and the instant communication we now enjoy is going to be compromised. People in one part of the country are going to wonder how people in another part are doing. Little by little lines are going to come up, and people are going to log on, and they're going to get the best, most comprehensive, and ultimately, just because it's there, most heartening information from . . . some lone blogger out there..."

Thanks for referencing my post. :-) It is amazing to me all the contortions faithful Democratics will put themselves through in order to defend Dean. They know that any Republican uttering such words would be buried by the MSM in a matter of two weeks (rest in peace). At the same time, they are willing to tolerate any number of insults and racially insensitive remarks for Democrats who take them completely for granted.
I think members of the black community need to take a long look at the Democratic Party and ask the question, what have you done for me lately?
Thanks again,
David
