Tom has done it again.
He's written yet another lyrical poem fraught with wit and wisdom.
Roughly 3 weeks or so ago, the blogosphere was humming with news about the atheist Antony Flew and his apparent spiritual awakening.
Folks on my blogroll, including Joe, Gene, David, Dave, and Jeremy Lott all had things to say about Mr. Flew that's worth revisiting some weeks later but I'm hoping some of you will help in ensuring that Tom's Mr. Flew the Coop of Fools gets maximum exposure:
"Mr. Flew the Coop of Fools"
or
("Hen-Pecked by Evidence")
They feathered their nest
And,... By Darwin! ...were blessed,
By the Pope of Natural Selection!
On the roost they are parked,
Laying eggs in the dark,
Self-assured in lofty reflection.
Cock -A- Doodle-do!
Brother Antony Flew!
Hens aghast! Feathers ruffled and bent!
Well, who woulda guessed!?
Flew abandoned The Nest...
(Don't you wonder where Antony went?)
Flew the Coop for the Light!
Good Lord, what a sight!
What a flap Mr. Flew left behind!
Now the hens are all crowing,
Laying eggs without knowing
The Clue that Flew knew:
..........God's Design.
When they saw "Phoenix Flew"
The Chicken Coop knew
The Hen House would have to regroup!
All a-cackle and stirred,
They remain undeterred.
Proud Birds of The Atheist Coop.
So, flightless they stew,
Ignoring Flew's Clue,
Just molting a bit in the heat.
Designer Denying,
These Fryers aren't buying
The evidence laid at their feet.

The Answer's disclosed....
And the Rooster still crows
At the Light that appears with the Sun.
Mother nature's a path,
And if you'll do the math,
Truth emerges:
Psalm Fourteen...
Verse One.
Evidence? There is plenty!
Romans One in verse Twenty,
There's a warning we chickens all need.
But cooped up as we are,
By sin near and far,
It's a warning too few of us heed.
* * * *
So, if you hear the crowing
At the break of dawn's glowing,
Just remember St. Peter, my friend.
He struggled to see,
But held on to The Key*..
Light of Truth will endure to the end.________________________________

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." --(Romans 1: 20)

"How bankrupt is the heart that views a sunset, understands something of the intricacies and balance of nature, is trained in the laws of science, or comprehends the wondrous working of the human body, and then proclaims that there is no intelligent, powerful, personal Creator----all the while believing they are more enlightened; that they have thrown off the shackles which bind the less sophisticated." --Marvin Rosenthal

Rick - That's a wonderful, light-hearted yet informed and wise commentary from Tom. Just delightful. I'll have to check out his blog more fully. Thanks.
Have a New Year blessed with contentment and peace,
